Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials
The general purpose of the Commission is to set the salaries of the County Commissioners and the elected Auditor, Assessor, Clerk, Coroner, Sheriff, and Treasurer. The salary for Superior Court and District Court judges, and the Prosecuting Attorney, are established at the state level.
The Commission will consist of ten members with six of the ten being randomly selected from registered voters by the County Auditor.
The remaining four Commission members must be a resident of Mason County and shall be appointed by the County Commissioners. The persons selected for these positions shall have experience in the field of personnel management or a related field.
The members of the Commission may not include any officer, official, or employee of the County or any of their immediate family members. “Immediate family member” as used in for this Commission means the parents, spouse, siblings, children, or dependent relatives of the officer, official, or employee, whether or not living in the household of the officer, official, or employee.
