Veterans' Assistance Fund

Per RCW 73.08.010, Mason County established a Veterans’ Assistance Fund (VAF) to provide relief to local indigent Veterans and their families using recommendations received from the Veterans' Advisory Board (VAB).  This ten (10) member board adheres to the VAB By-Laws and meets at 8:45 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month, excluding December, at Memorial Hall in Shelton.  The VAB Operating Policy and Procedures provide detailed information regarding the program such as eligibility, services, application procedures, and more.  The VAB will also recommend other local resources as available.

Mason County defines indigent to mean the Veteran and all members of the household be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) as provided by the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) Poverty Guidelines.
