The Communicable Disease program has legal requirements to monitor 65 communicable diseases (WAC - TB-246.100.211). Reporting communicable diseases benefits the community in preventing the spread of disease through case investigation.  Our nurses assist in rapid identification of health threats and aid in the determination of public health priorities through surveillance of these diseases. The program provides health education and resources to patients, medical providers, and the general public.
