The program goal is to provide individualized and short-term treatment to all juveniles in the facility. Detention programs provide a wide range of services that support the juvenile's physical, emotional, and social development. Therapeutic interventions designed to address offense specific needs are offered to juveniles committed for longer periods of time.

Programs provided for all juveniles minimally includes:

  2. Orientation
  3. Education
  4. Recreation
  5. Library
  6. Visitation
  7. Counseling
  8. Supervision
  9. Food Service

The Mason County Detention Center uses a variety of treatment approaches. The central approach is based upon personal responsibility and behavior management. Other approaches are positive peer support and modeling of positive behaviors by Detention staff.
