Is there financial assistance available to help pay delinquent property taxes that may be or are subject to foreclosure?

 

Senior Citizens & Disabled Persons
If you are 61 years old, disabled or a disabled veteran with a service connected evaluation of at least 80%, own the home you live in and your income does not exceed the income level threshold 3, you may be entitled to a property tax deduction. State of Washington, Department of Revenue

Under the Deferral Program the State of Washington will pay your property taxes on your behalf. Under the Limited Income Deferral Program the State of Washington will pay the second installment of your property taxes, due October 31st on your behalf. These programs are not an exemption or a grant. The deferred amount plus interest becomes a lien on your property in favor of the State of Washington until repaid. To be eligible for these programs, you must meet the age, disability, ownership, residency and income requirements. Property Tax Payment Assistance

 

State of Washington Homeowners Assistance Fund
Financial assistance may be available for a limited period of time through the State of Washington Homeowners Assistance Fund. This program is supported in whole or in part, by federal award number HAF0025 which was awarded to the Washington State Housing Finance Commission by the U.S. Department of Treasury. The Washington State Homeowners Assistance Fund provides individual support and federal relief funds – up to $60,000 per household – to qualified Washington homeowners behind on their property taxes due to pandemic hardship. Washington Homeownership Resource Center
Financial referral assistance is available through the Washington Homeownership Resource Center. This program is supported by a 501(d)e organization supported and financed through government grants and corporate philanthropic contributions and individual donations. This support allows for unbiased, free information and referrals at no charge. Through their hotline, website and online portal, the Washington Homeownership Resource Center provides clients with personalized information and referrals.
