Mason County Superior Court digitally audio and video records court proceedings.  There are no court reporters in the courtroom during court proceedings.  Transcripts are not automatically generated for every hearing.  Upon request, and with payment in advance, proceedings can be transcribed by a Mason County court authorized transcriptionist.

The cost is $4.50 per page non-expedited and $6.00 per page expedited.  The total cost depends on the length of the proceeding.  An hour-long proceeding equals approximately 40 pages.

Example:   40 pages x $4.50 per page = $180.00 advance deposit required.

Transcripts, depending on length, will be completed in four to six weeks

Expedited transcripts can be ordered at a cost of $6.00 per page, and will be completed in one to two weeks, depending on length.

Preparation of transcripts for appeals, with deadlines, take priority over other orders, and may affect the timeframes set forth above.

In the alternative, a digital copy of the audio recording can be purchased.

For CDs or DVDs, the cost of a duplicate audio/video recording is $25.00 per day.  For audio tapes, the cost is $10.00 per tape.

CDs or DVDs will be copied in Windows Media Player format or FTR format and will be available for pick up approximately 24 hours after ordered.  Windows Media Player format can be played on any computer with Windows operating system.  FTR format requires a download of the PlayerPlus from the FTR website.
